Bob Brown is the Chief Information Officer at Manchester City Council. Reporting direct to the Chief Exec - Joanne Roney. Bob is responsible for setting and transforming ICT Strategy and delivering all ICT services at Manchester City Council. The role encompases the Council’s strategic aims and objectives and those that support the wider Greater Manchester Digital context. Manchester City Council has more than 6,000 employees and is the single largest Local Authority in the North West. Bob is responsible for overseeing and enabling all aspects of information technology, information security, data and analytics across the Council and for supporting the growth of digital technologies by working in true partnership across the Council on ICT requirements. Bob became CIO in late 2015 having been Director of Service Strategy at Aviva. He chairs both the Industry Advisory Board at MMU Business School and the Informatics, Management & Technology (IM&T) part of the Manchester Health Locality which is setting the technology strategy for Manchester. Bob holds a MBA in Business & Management Economics.
