Fighting Fraud and Corruption Locally (confirmed)
Charlie Adan is the Society of Local Authority Chief Executive and Senior Managers’ representative who chairs the Fighting Fraud and Corruption Locally Board. In this role, she leads a dedicated group of professionals with an interest and expertise in this field of work who develop strategies and plans, give guidance and encourage local authorities and their partners to tackle fraud and corruption at a local level. Until July 2018 Charlie was Chief Executive of the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames, and prior to that was a shared Chief Executives responsible for leading two councils in Suffolk. Charlie has been in local government for over 25 years having fulfilled a range of senior corporate roles including the role of Monitoring Officer, and has worked for every type of council from Parish Councils to the Greater London Authority as well as spending a short time in the NHS. Charlie is a qualified solicitor who started her career in private legal practice and in industry.
